Mariposa & the Hwy 140 Entrance

Restaurants... Shopping... Entertainment & More....

The historic gold town of Mariposa is 20 miles to our north along Hwy 49. This is the first gold town at the southern end of Hwy 49, you will pass straight through Mariposa en route to Yosemite valley through the Arch Rock/El portal entrance via Hwy 140. This is the fastest route to Yosemite Valley, hetch hetchy & Toulomne Meadows from our location.

Established in 1849, this town has not changed much, its a step back in time. The main street is filled with great shops, antiques, wine tasting and a local tavern.  During the summer months there are concerts in the park most weekends and a county fair and demolition derby. Lots of fun!
